…and Moving On
A few years later, Charlotte’s circumstances had changed dramatically. She had gotten married, bought a house in Charlestown with her husband, and was expecting her first child. Not knowing whether or not it made sense for her to hold onto her Cambridge condominium as an income-producing rental unit, she came to us for advice.
After conducting a detailed market analysis, we encouraged Charlotte to put her condo up for sale. A lack of quality inventory in Cambridge at the time, combined with pent-up demand fueled by historically low interest rates and an improving economy, convinced us that she had an opportunity to realize a significant gain. We listed the property soon thereafter and the market behaved as we had predicted. Charlotte sold her condo quickly, above her asking price, and was able to leverage a major asset in a way that made real financial sense while freeing her of the responsibility of being a landlord.
“Lindsay and Lisa helped me buy and subsequently sell my first condominium – and they were fantastic to work with. For both transactions there were multiple bidders involved, and they helped me navigate two bidding wars (once on one side, once on the other) with the greatest of ease. The sale was especially smooth, with Lisa offering to do two open houses in a single weekend, which certainly helped increase the number of offers we entertained that (same) Sunday evening. They remained dedicated to the transaction even once an offer was accepted – helping me communicate with the buyer and get a clean and quick close. Nobody knows Cambridge better than these two – and I have yet to meet calmer, wiser or more dedicated pair of real estate agents.”
